What is StreetSquash?
StreetSquash, established in September 1999, is a pioneering urban squash program dedicated to comprehensive youth enrichment. The organization serves nearly 300 participants, aged 11-24, offering a holistic blend of academic tutoring, squash instruction, community service, college preparation, leadership development, and mentoring. Initially operating across various New York City locations, StreetSquash now boasts a permanent home at the SL Green StreetSquash Center, a facility equipped with eight ASB squash courts, four classrooms, a library, and administrative offices. This expansion has enabled the creation of the PE in Public Schools Program and fostered a partnership with Columbia University, serving as the home courts for its Varsity Squash teams.
