A promise to our community
At ZoomInfo we are committed to making sure our customers have access to data that was sourced ethically and compliantly, in consideration of all applicable global and domestic privacy laws, regulations, and standards. This includes CCPA in the United States and GDPR in the European Union, which set the standards for our privacy program. At ZoomInfo, we know that compliance is an ongoing process, not a check-box or a flashy banner on a website.

Unstructured public information
Our data is updated through automated machine learning, which views a variety of public information on over 28 million sites and domains every day. These sources include corporate websites, press releases, news articles, Security and Exchange Commission filings, job postings, and other online sources that provide information about industries, locations, revenue, and additional company attributes. Then, targeted keyword algorithms sharpen the searches while our system identifies and adds company technographic information. Our tools do not attempt to bypass password restrictions or CAPTCHAs.
How ZoomInfo uses Unstructured Public Information:
Receive updates whenever personnel is added or removed from leadership webpages
Monitor announcements of executive promotions, company news, upcoming product launches in the news
Collect business contact data from individuals who list this information publicly on their website, such as lawyers or public relations professionals
Monitor public filings for up-to-date information on revenue, employee headcount, IPO announcements, and more
Identify company website source codes to learn what technologies an organization uses

Data partners
We rely on a trustworthy network of partners who provide us with unique data points that add further value to what we offer our customers.
How ZoomInfo uses Data Partners:
Capture job postings, allowing us to uncover technologies being used, or upcoming projects listed in job descriptions
Monitor anonymized web activity and traffic to identify consumption patterns from company IP addresses to help power our Intent product
Update changes to the restaurant, branch, and retail locations of the largest brands in the United States
Standardize address and location information for 95 million businesses

Contributory data community
More than 200,000 business professionals use our ZoomInfo Lite platform, and provide accurate business contact information in exchange for free access to ZoomInfo.
Many of our customers participate in our other data sharing programs, through which their use of our tools can help us improve our underlying data. For example, a connected email tool may help us understand email accuracy through deliverability data.

Data training lab and research team
ZoomInfo has an in-house research and development team focused on continuous improvement of the database. The team’s meticulous efforts verify algorithm performance; grow data about contacts, funding, and conferences; and gather other supplemental information about companies that can help sales teams get ahead of prospective buyers.
How ZoomInfo uses our Data Training Lab and Research Team:
Identify and fix mistakes or limitations within our data processing engine
Provide specialization and subject matter expertise to the data science department to improve data quality
Continually benchmark our data quality for critical KPIs, such as email bounce rates, employer relationships, and firmographic accuracy

Information we do not collect
While ZoomInfo has a rich and diverse B2B data portfolio, the types of data we do not process are just as significant as the data points we make available to our customers. Here is an overview of the types of information we do not process:
We do not track personal browsing history
We do not collect sensitive categories of data
We do not collect information that relates to individuals solely in their personal capacity
