What is buildOn?
buildOn is a non-profit organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty, illiteracy, and low expectations through service and education. The organization empowers urban youth in the U.S. to transform their communities via intensive service projects, while simultaneously enabling these students to contribute to building schools in economically disadvantaged countries worldwide. To date, buildOn students have logged over 2.2 million hours of service in the U.S. and have been instrumental in the construction of more than 1,351 schools across nations including Burkina Faso, Haiti, Nicaragua, Nepal, Senegal, Malawi, and Mali. This dual approach of domestic community engagement and international development underscores buildOn's comprehensive strategy for impact.
