Some things should be left unsaid. Having traveled many of Americas Highways and Interstates, visited every State, and been through or around a great deal of her cities, and a couple million miles on the ground, my desire is to establish a way to thank the Trucking Industry in such a manner that will carry on hopefully as long as trucks roll the ro... adways. I have experienced some really good times on the road. Some not so good as well. From a major crash in Columbus in 1997 to an apendix rupture in the truck in St.Louis in 2012. I have been a towing and recovery operator, a company driver, a company trainer, a Truck Driving School Owner, a State CDL Road Test Examiner, a lease operator, and finally an Owner Operator with 48 State Operating Authority. And even today, the site is being built while sitting in the sleeper. The one constant: family. Family. The wife, the kids. Missing the first ball game. The scout meeting. Birthdays. The anniversary. And so much more. Truck Drivers make sacrifices every day to struggle to keep on struggling throughout their career. And just by the nature of the beast, things happen. Over the course of my career, I have seen the end result of tragic accidents. I have seen drivers found in their cab after suffering a heart attack in their sleep. I know drivers that have had a parent pass away with no way to get home. And I could go on, and I could get graphic to reinforce my point. But no need. Many carriers will boast of how they care for their drivers. I do believe that they try. And I know that before this charity, drivers were still getting home. But at what cost and to whom? How many wifes had to wait for her drivers final paycheck to clear to get him home?? Through our compassionate donors, we want every Commercial driver to know that a service exists that will provide for them and their family without a doubt. Any time, any where.
