St. Winifred's Catholic Primary School is a voluntary aided school which is now situated on one site in Newstead Road. It is growing to become a two form entry school. Currently we have two forms in each year group from Reception to Year 4. It is the parish school of Our Lady of Lourdes, Lee. We have come to the end of an extensive building program... me which has enabled us to create a wonderful learning environment for all our pupils. We are all extremely proud of our beautiful and well cared for premises. All staff strive to make the classrooms attractive and stimulating for every child. Achievement in all areas is celebrated through our displays of work around the school. Each pair of classrooms shares an adjoining area which is very well resourced. There are two bright and spacious halls for P.E., dance, singing and drama and a beautiful and well-stocked library. Music has a very high profile in our school and we have very well resourced a music room. We also have excellent IT provision including a new and well resourced IT suite. The school buildings are set in very attractive grounds including a large playground, a MUGA, garden areas, paved and astro-turfed zones. The children are allocated to year groups according to age (1st September - 31st August). Children with Special Educational Needs including those with Education and Health Care Plans will be educated alongside their peers either in small groups or individually. As a Catholic school, gospel values permeate all aspects of school life. It is our aim to provide an environment where the dignity and worth of each individual is recognised, respected and nurtured.
