We are here to serve the communities of Southeast Shelby County. Southeast Shelby Emergency Medical Services ALS vehicles are staffed at the advanced life support level. Our ALS ambulances are operated by highly skilled and trained staff and carry the necessary medical equipment required to stabilize, treat, and transport patients to a hospital eme... rgency department, cath lab, or trauma center. SESCR Responded to 2,472 9-1-1 calls from Columbiana area in 2020, of those SESCR Transported 1,180 patients. of those SESCR Transported 789 patients. Response by specially trained personnel to provide out-of-hospital care in medical emergencies. Advanced Life Support (ALS) is a set of life-saving protocols and skills that extend beyond Basic Life Support (BLS). It is used to provide urgent treatment to cardiac emergencies such as cardiac arrest, stroke, myocardial infarction, and other conditions. ALS is one of the vital steps in the American Heart Associations Chain of Survival. We respond to motor vehicle crashes with tools and equipment that are specifically for extricating trapped patients. Our personnel are cross trained in vehicle extrication and emergency medical care. Ambulance transportation with continued care from the scene to the appropriate emergency medical care facility (i.e. hospital emergency department, cath lab, stroke or trauma center.
