R.H. Batterman and Co., Inc. (Batterman), is a full-service engineering, planning, and surveying firm that has been in continuous operation since May 1st, 1917. Based in Beloit, Wisconsin, R.H. Batterman & Co. was established by Richard H. Batterman, Sr. After Batterman Sr. passed away in 1964, his son Richard (Dick) Batterman Jr. (1919-1990) conti... nued to operate the Beloit business. R. H. Batterman has successfully transitioned through 5 generations of ownership. Today Batterman is managed by Frank McKearn (President), Lance Wagner (Vice President) and Todd Needham, P.E. (Secertary/Treasurer). The company today consists of 25 employees. This team of dedicated professionals have successfully completed numerous projects over the years ranging from urban reconstruction projects, rural highways, interstate interchanges, roadway rehabilitation, roadway widening, turn lanes, culvert replacement/upgrades, drainage structure replacements, small bridge designs, hydraulics and hydrology projects, realignments, erosion control, traffic management, intersection upgrades, multimodal facilities, wetland delineation and wetland mitigation. Many projects have been for local units of government (cities, villages, townships and county agencies) and others have been coordinated through WisDOT. In addition to previous WisDOT design, Batterman has also provided construction management services to WisDOT for over 20 years.
