Northland Counseling Services is a group of experienced psychologists, social workers , marriage and family therapists dedicated to providing counseling assistance during lifes difficult challenges. Under the direction of Dr. Hal Baumchen , Northland Counseling Services offers counseling for individuals, marriages and families, teenagers / adolesce... nts, and children. Northland Counseling Services is built on a commitment to kind, compassionate, and sound solutions for life. On April 1, 2002, Dr. Hal opened a counseling practice through Know the Truth Ministries called Northland Counseling Services . Within a month or two, Northland hired a psychologist, Dr. Thomas Sawyer , who worked with us for several years. Also within the first year, Northland hired Dr. Dan Snyder , who has been with us for the past 14 years. In 2011, we opened an office in the Two Twelve Medical Center in Chaska , and another office in the Arbor Lakes Medical Building in Maple Grove in 2012. At the time we opened the Maple Grove office, we also started a co-occurring disorders program called Lighthouse at that location to treat those who suffer from substance abuse and mental health issues. Northland Counseling now has over 25 therapists in our three locations. More than 20,000 people in several hundred thousand sessions have been seen in one of the various office locations over the past 15 years. Our purpose has remained constant over that time: to bring hope and healing to the brokenhearted. We aim to help those who need grace and mercy in their time of need. We have helped those who are grieving the loss of a loved one or going through a divorce. We have helped the depressed and the despairing, the anxious and the lonely, the addicted and the dying.
