At my FootDr we focus on foot and lower limb health. We are passionate about providing outstanding foot and lower limb care for our patients and it concerns us to see so many people come through our doors every week, particularly in the over 50 year age group with chronic pain in their feet and lower limbs. We love to see them walking easy and pain... free as they leave our premises, of course! Less than 10% of the population exercises adequately after 50 sufficiently to retain cardiovascular health. Physical decline after 50 (or at any age) is clearly linked to lack of physical activity, yet we know that over 50s are far from frail and weak and will benefit from regular moderate exercise. Bone density does begin to decline after around 40 with it accelerating at around 50 however studies show that exercise can reduce the risk of bone loss and osteoporosis, particularly weight bearing exercise.
