Kaluzny Bros., Inc. (KBI) is a family-owned and operated rendering company committed to delivering sustainable recycling solutions to their customers and the environment. KBI was founded in 1946 after World War II where three brothers from Illinois had served in the U.S. Army. Rendering was vital to the war effort as tallow and other oils were used to make specialty products such as nitroglycerin what went into explosives. Since its founding over 75 years ago, Kaluzny Bros., has safely recycled, in a bio-secure manner, over 300,000,000 pounds of inedible bones, fat, offal, and greases every year. As a rendering service, KBI plays an essential role in sustainably recycling valuable agricultural resources, reducing food waste, and positively contributing to local, state, national and international economies. From its two plant facilities in Joliet, they service seven surrounding states. KBI also operates one subsidiary, Midwest Recycling Company (MRC).
