Joey's Dulcet Melodies

Dulcet Melodies was founded by Joey Oberhoffner in 1996 with a simple idea: That music should be a joy accessible to all, and that anyone who teaches it should be driven not by ambition or hope of prestige, but by a love for music and a love for teaching. This simple premise has led to the establishment of Dulcet Melodies as a locally-known and res... pected source for choral arrangements, vocal and choral workshops, voice lessons, musical theatre production, performance master-classes, curriculum development, talent representation and actual performance bookings themselves. We are guided by one great ideal: Through honesty comes understanding, and with understanding comes love. We believe that, through transparent business practices and honest, straightforward communication with clients, we can offer superior service to the public. Likewise, through teaching methods both old and new, we can explain to students the mysteries of music and, in so doing, instill a love for music in the hearts and minds of our students. Joey Oberhoffner has literally been singing for as long as he's been walking. For 13 years he sang as a member of the renowned Calgary Boys Choir, touring Europe, Asia, Australia and North America. As a student at Bishop Grandin high school he became the first ever recipient of the Award of Choral Distinction for his contribution to gold medal performances in Vienna, Austria and Orlando, Florida for chamber choir, vocal jazz and show choir. Joey has received scholarships for music from the University of Calgary and the Kiwanis Music Festival, appeared in operas and on television and radio, and has won Gold standing with the vocal jazz group "Kinnect" in California and Hawaii. Joey owns Dulcet Melodies music studio, and has taught voice and choir for the past 12 years with Bishop Grandin High School, Sak's Music, Hollywood and Vine Company Music, the University of Lethbridge Conservatory, and many others.
