Jedwards International, Inc. represents a 70 year family tradition in the specialty oils market which started with the processing and refining of cod liver oil in South Boston. Perhaps one of the longest running domestic cod liver oil supplies, this business eventually concluded with the advent of synthetic vitamins and the depletion of local cod s... tocks. However the health benefits of Omega-3 fish oil have been re-discovered and another generation has stepped forward to apply its expertise to the specialty oils market. Founded in 1994 Jedwards International, Inc. initially focused on the developing of value added marine by-products with fisheries in New Bedford and the import and distribution of omega-3 fish oils from Norway. However, Jedwards has rapidly expanded into a variety of seed oils, shea butter and essential oils. Many of these materials have dual uses in both food and cosmetic applications and now Jedwards services a broad customer base across several markets.
