About Golden Homes

When Golden Homes opened its doors in 1990, Len and Jill Helms wanted to make changes to home building in New Zealand. Gone were the days of solidly-built brick homes as standard - new houses were being built using new types of monolithic cladding and fibre sheeting. It made them cheap, but they weren't built to last. There was a big gap in the market for people who wanted a good strong Kiwi brick-and-tile, without having to pay for an architect and private builder. And that was what Golden Homes began to offer. Within just four years, the company was emerging as the home builder of choice for people all round the country. For the last 25 years we've worked hard to stay one step ahead of the game.
