Fashion for Change

Fashion for Change is a student-run artistic club on the University of Waterloo campus focused on promoting fashion and artistic expression in a variety of different avenues. We encourage the student body to explore the world of arts, in areas such as fashion, music, dance and drama. Fashion for Change unites students from a variety of academic dis... ciplines, from both the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University. Our club is comprised of approximately 130 students, consisting of our Board of Directors, Executive Members, and Models. Throughout the year, we host a series of events to promote Fashion for Change, as well as to raise funds for our partner charity, Free The Children. Events include Holiday Showcase, Dance Workshop, Model Workshop, Annual Theme Release Party, and the Annual Charity Fashion Show and After Party. Fashion for Change hosts the largest annual student-run charity fashion show in the Tri-City region. Our fashion show is unique in many aspects, as it incorporates choreographed dancing, performances, as well as student designed clothing and jewelry. During the show, models showcase clothing and accessories from our many sponsors such as Jean Machine, Suzy Shier, Stars, RW&Co, Aeropostale, West49 and styles from our incredibly talented Fashion Designers! The Fashion Show is a remarkable sight to see, and every year we sell out all 700 seats in Hagey Hall Theatre. We are now in our sixth year, and after last year's show in 2015, we have raised over $70,000 over the past five years for Free The Children's Adopt A Village Campaign, supporting our village in Moyamba, Sierra Leone to rebuild their community, focusing on their pillar of education.
