About Family Tree Clinic
Family Tree Clinic was founded by Macalester College students and teachers, health professionals and community leaders in 1971. Their goal was to serve the thousands of teens and adults in the area neglected by the traditional health care system. From the beginning the company's founders based their philosophy of care on the needs of the community, including maintaining a volunteer Board of Directors. Many of those who serve on the company's board are patients, community members and health care professionals. The company's Board of Directors and founders brought a unique perspective to the field of family planning health care - they put an emphasis on education and outreach.
