The activity was the generating of electricity utilizing GE 60 Hz Gas Turbines. The electricity was supplied to a transmission company (FPL) which did not renew its seven-year purchase contract. The GE Turbines were removed, and DESOTO COUNTY PLANT LLC purchased the plant. There are no commercial activities currently at the site. Current Site Information The site is suitable for manufacturing, creating a data center, or a crypto-currency mine. There are no environmental issues with the site. The Florida Power and Light Company Substation is adjacent to Plant. Water supply - Two 600ft deep producing water wells - 1.3 M Gallon demineralized water storage tank - A 750 thousand gallons raw water storage tank The plant has 20-year water-use permit from the State of Florida allowing: Annual Average - 76,100 gallons per day Peak Month 610,00 gallons per day.
