During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Appeals Commission has continued to operate without interruption. Now that Alberta is in Stage Two of the Relaunch Strategy, the Appeals Commission is beginning a phased reopening of our offices. Starting July 6 in Edmonton and July 20 in Calgary, you can drop off documents in person using our contactless mailbox l... ocated near the elevator. Please note that there will not be a receptionist in the office so if your documents are urgent or you have question or concerns, please contact us at the information below. Please note that in-person hearings are not yet available. The safety of our clients and staff is top priority and there are many arrangements that need to be made to ensure the safety of in-person hearings while COVID-19 is a risk. We are closely watching how the pandemic evolves, and working to make these changes so that we can offer safe, in-person hearings as soon as possible. In the meantime, the majority of scheduled Appeals Commission hearings will continue by teleconference or documents-only. We also continue to explore options for making remote hearings even more accessible and user-friendly. If you have an in-person hearing scheduled: We continue to review scheduled hearings. You will be given the option to proceed by teleconference or documents-only if resources and schedules permit. Some in-person hearings will have to be adjourned - these will have priority for rescheduling at a later date. We will contact you with further information.
