About Academy of Design
The Academy of Design offers competency based training. Students must be found competent in all aspects of each unit of competency undertaken, in order to obtain their qualifications. In other words, students must achieve 100% in all elements covered by each competency. Checklists are used to track progress and assist in the final assessment where the following coding is applied: " A Competent " D Not Yet Competent " R - Resubmission -This grade will result in an A or D (Competent or Not Yet Competent) within a specified period with only a P - Pass being awarded. Once the student has achieved competency in each unit of competency, they will receive a further evaluation that reflects an individual student's achievements in each unit of competency over and above their initial competency. These codes reflect their commitment to achieving quality results in each competency and do not reflect norm based assessment.Explore more
